Deirdre Sims
 is a Certified Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor (CVRC) for the
United States Department of Labor, is one of approximately two hundred (200)
Diplomates of the American Board of Vocational Experts in the United States,
 has been appointed by the State of California as an Independent Vocational
Evaluator (I.V.E.) for the Workers' Compensation Department, and has been 
approved to provide MCLE credits by the State Bar of California.


According to California Family Code §4331, Ms. Sims qualifies as an expert with:

      (1) a Master of Arts Degree in the behavioral sciences, Counseling Psychology, emphasis, Marriage, Family, Child Counseling;

      (2) qualified to administer and interpret inventories for assessing career potential;

      (3) demonstrated ability in interviewing and assessing marketable skills with
 understanding of age constraints, physical and mental health, previous education and
 experience, and time and geographic mobility constraints;

      (4) knowledge of education and training programs in the area with costs  and time
 plans for these programs.


Ms. Sims has been Court appointed as a 730 expert for over 950 cases.  


Ms. Sims has been counseling since 1981, upon graduation from the University of California
 at Irvine with a Bachelor's degree in Social Science, Psychology.  She obtained her
Master's degree in Counseling Psychology from Pepperdine University in 1985,
emphasis Marriage, Family and Child Counseling.  


Ms. Sims began counseling injured worker's in 1987 and became a Certified Rehabilitation
Counselor in Oregon and Washington.  In 1990, she directed her focus to vocational counseling
 and wage earning capacity assisting injured workers and divorced clients.  She earned 
elite standing as Diplomate with the American Board of Vocational Experts, and is one of only
200 in the United States since 1993.  She later became Executive of the National Forensic Center
  and a Certified Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor with the Department of Labor. 
Ms. Sims now specializes solely in divorce evaluations, imputation of income, and testifies 
in Superior Court regarding wage earning capacity and imputation of income. 
    

Attorneys and Judges have requested her services in dissolution matters regarding wage
earning capacity as both a private consultant and a 730 expert since 1990.

DM Sims has a list of professionals to consult with that provide valuable information relating
to the market not available in publications.  Professionals include; Presidents and CEO's in
the technology and biotechnology field, pilots, nurses, microbiologists, engineers, teachers,
marketing managers, and many others. 


Certified and Contract Vocational Counselors assist with labor market surveys and difficult
areas of research; Internet search, review of employment opportunities, contacting
employers for information specific to the client regarding employability, qualifications, and wages.  


Information and statistics are reviewed (as available) from the most recent publications
- to name a few; the Department of Labor, Bureau of Labor and Statistics, the Dictionary of
Occupational Job Titles and Selected Characteristics of the Dictionary of Occupational
Titles, the Employment Development Department  --- standard resources used
by vocational counselors.  Various geographic locations in the United States are
surveyed for wage information as needed for move aways (or potential move aways)  
and relocation due to transfers. 


Ms. Sims utilizes resources and reports specific to the industry being researched, i
f they are available, (i.e., surveys from the AIA, AMA, SEC filings, etc.).
